MARLBOROUGH – Fairfield Inn in Marlborough recently hosted a wrapping party to benefit the charity Sweats for Vets.
Sweats for Vets works to distribute sports-team sweatshirts, hoodies and other gear to veterans experiencing homelessness. The group aims to help veterans stay warm while also promoting a sense of pride, according to its website.
Fairfield Inn General Manager Cheryl Prentiss enjoys getting her staff involved in projects in “the spirit to serve” and, as such, reached out to Sweats for Vets liaison Mark Vital to set up this event.
Prentiss and her staff wrapped and labeled 120 Patriots sweatshirts all to be distributed through the Sweats for Vets network this week.
“It was impressive,” she said. “Our backs are killing us from bending over to wrap but we all felt so good afterwards on the inside.”
