REGION – The Assabet girls basketball team lost to Tahanto Wednesday in the consolation round of the Holiday Classic Tournament hosted at Tahanto Regional High School in Boylston.
Ava Palizzozo led the Aztecs in the loss, racking up a team high 11 points against the Stags.
Tahanto jumped out to an early lead in this game, taking a 16-6 advantage into the second quarter.
They built on their lead from there, leading 33-12 by halftime before ultimately capping their win with a 49-24 final score.
Assabet previously faced off against Clinton on Monday. A loss in that game, though, dropped the Aztecs into this consolation matchup while Clinton moved on to play West Boylston in the tournament final.
