Marlborough – Theresa ( Savard) Vezina, 90, of Marlborough, died peacefully in her home on December 30, 2021 after a long illness. Born in Springfield, MA she was the daughter of the late Phillippe and Florida (Bauregard) Savard and the wife of late Joseph Vezina.
She is survived by her three children, Joanne Tucker and her husband Richard, Janet Auger and her husband Paul and Francis Bedard and his wife Marie, all of Marlborough, her 7 grandchildren Jennifer, Amy, Brian, Chad, Gregg, Kimberlee and Mathew and 11 great grandchildren. She also leaves her sister Ethel (Ginger) Cutting and loving family members, John and Mary Ellen Vezina. She was also the sister of the late Margaret, Anna, Dorothy and Claire, Philip, Eugene, Bernard, Francis and Ernest.
She had been a member of the former St. Ann Parish, Marlborough, and participated in the trips with the travel club over the years. Theresa was a member of the Family Moose Lodge, Sons of Italy where she worked on fundraising and scholarships, and a member at Wayside Racquet and Swim Club where she made many lifelong friends. She volunteered at the Marlborough Hospital following her retirement from Digital Equipment Corp. She loved attending all of her grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. Her family and friends were her biggest joy.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Brookhaven Hospice and her home care CNAs for their care, support and compassion during Theresa’s illness.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 6 at 10:00 a.m. at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant Street, Marlborough, MA 01752. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Beach Street, Marlborough, MA. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, from 5-7 p.m.
