HUDSON – Goals came in bunches on Wednesday night in Marlborough as the Hudson High School boys hockey team took on North Middlesex.

Ultimately, though, the Patriots took the win, dealing the Hawks the 7-2 loss at home.

North Middlesex opened the scoring in the first period, putting one goal past Hudson with 2:02 left in the frame.

They then expanded that lead with two goals in 19 seconds of game time in the second period.

North Middlesex held the 3-0 advantage for a brief time before Hudson’s Joe Lozoraitis scored two goals, himself, in just 23 seconds. Those were his first two goals of his varsity career, head coach Scott O’Connor later said.

All that meant Hudson started the third period down by just one goal with a score of 3-2.

North Middlesex then dominated the final minutes of the game, though, scoring twice in 15 seconds with around 10:00 minutes left.

They then tacked on two more goals before all was said and done against Hudson.

It’s been a strong season for North Middlesex, which now sits at 5-1-1 with its victory over Hudson.

Hudson meanwhile, remains winless in this 2021-2022 campaign.
