Robert E. RossiShrewsbury – Robert E. “Bob” Rossi, 78, a longtime resident of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 10, 2021 at Massachusetts General Hospital with his wife and daughter by his side.

Bob was born in Worcester on July 16, 1943, one of 6 sons to Edward R. Rossi Sr. and Rose M. (Abruzzise) Rossi. A proud naval veteran that made three tours of duty during the Vietnam War, Bob was also a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and enjoyed traveling around the United States, having visited all 50 states. Bob especially loved whitewater rafting, particularly on the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon that he rafted 10 different times with family and friends.

He retired from Connoisseurs where he was Senior VP of Manufacturing and had worked for many years.

He loved to cook, work on home projects, and always had a book in hand. Bob was known to lend a helping hand whenever needed to family, friends, and neighbors.

Bob is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joan L. Rossi, his daughter Jessica J. Rossi and her husband William A. Wharton of Forest Hill, MD, and his sweet pea granddaughter Charlotte “Charlie” A. Rossi Wharton. In addition, he is survived by his brother Edward R. Rossi, Jr. and his wife Helen, his brother Paul Rossi and his wife Elisabeth, and multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bob is predeceased by parents and three brothers Richard, Francis, and David Rossi.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Chiampa Funeral Home, 5 Church Road, On the Common, Shrewsbury. Bob’s funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
