Timothy J. McCarthyShrewsbury – Timothy J. “Tim” McCarthy, 70, of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 22, 2022 in the comfort of his home with family by his side.

He leaves his beloved wife of 46 years, Marilyn (Fabrizio) McCarthy; his daughters, Kelly Barner and her husband Craig, and Robyn Dugan and her husband Corey; his grandchildren, Anna, Timothy J., and Joseph Barner, and Connor, Riley, and Landon Dugan; his siblings, John McCarthy, of Halifax, MA, Claire Nakaji, of South Carolina, and Kevin McCarthy, of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

Tim was born in Boston, to the late John M. McCarthy and Ellen (Burke) McCarthy. He was a graduate of Boston College High School, Class of 1969. In 1974, he received his B.S. degree in Engineering from Northeastern University, and later, went on to receive his MBA from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in 1986.

Tim and Marilyn were married on July 27, 1975, and the pair settled in Shrewsbury to begin their life together.

He enjoyed a lengthy career as Vice President of Sales for both National Industrial Accounts at Wind River (Intel) and North America at Cadence Design Systems.

In his free time, Tim loved spending time on the Cape with Marilyn, working on his Mustangs, playing golf, but most of all, he cherished the time he spent visiting with his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the McCarthy family from 9 – 11 AM on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at the BRITTON-SHREWSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury, with a funeral service to be held at 11 AM. Masks will be required in the funeral home, per the Town of Shrewsbury’s mandate. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
