Charlene M. McDonaldWestborough – Charlene M. (Dombrowski) McDonald, of Westborough, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She leaves her children: Kyla P. McDonald, Brett C. Conley, and Allaire M. McDonald; one grandson; her siblings: Gary S. Dombrowski and his wife Eileen, Laurie J. Falk and her husband Bill, Rob L. Dombrowski and his wife Barbara, Denyse L. Smith, and Paul A. Dombrowski and his wife Janine; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, most notably, Samantha, Erica, Jill, and Emma, to whom she was especially close.

Charlene also leaves her “Barn Family” and longtime friends that she held dear to her heart, along with her dogs and horses that brought so much joy to so many people.

Charlene was predeceased by her siblings: Ronald F. Dombrowski, John C. Dombrowski, Gayle A. Thibeault, and Cheryle J. Spaeth; and their parents, Charles S. Dombrowski and Lillian D. (Allaire) Dombrowski Dwyer.

Born in Worcester, raised and educated in Shrewsbury, she was a graduate of Shrewsbury High School – Class of 1978. Since she was a mere fifteen years old, her passion for horses and the equestrian lifestyle has only grown stronger. Her first horse, Chester, gave her the dream and vision, which eventually became her reality. Charlene went on to receive her certificate from Meredith Manor International Equestrian Centre after high school and then opened Quarter Ridge Farm; she lovingly owned and operated her business for over thirty years. Charlene enjoyed teaching students of all ages about horses and horseback riding, and especially enjoyed working with those who had physical disabilities and challenges. She also loved country music, and attending Kenny Chesney concerts.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Quarter Horse Foundation and designated for the Region 6 Willard Rhodes Scholarship Endowment. Calling hours will be held from 1 – 4 PM on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at the BRITTON-SHREWSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury, where masks will kindly be required while indoors. Charlene’s family will be sharing remembrances beginning at 3:30.
