Joanne E. DutterMarlborough – Joanne E. Dutter, 86, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Friday, February 4, 2022. She was a beloved great grandmother, grandmother, mother, and wife.

Born in Waltham to George and Victoria (Johnson) McCauley.  She graduated from Waltham High School.  She met and married Walter R. Dutter Jr. in 1957 and they moved to Marlborough in 1961.

Joanne was predeceased by her husband Walter R. Dutter Jr. in 2004.

Joanne went to nursing school once Ted graduated from high school and went on to a long career in nursing.  Her love for people was unending. The only thing she loved more than people was her love for animals.  She loved her pets and all the wild animals that visited her house every day.

Joanne was an avid baseball and football fan. She recently said she was so lucky to seen Ted Williams and Tom Brady in her lifetime. She loved watching her family play sports. Her love for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren was unmeasurable. Nothing made her happier than to see these children either in person or on her iPad on Facetime. She was such an unselfish loving soul.

She is survived by her two sons, Roy Dutter, and Ted Dutter both of Marlborough; 6 grandchildren Kevin Dutter and his wife Stacey and their three children, Maddox, Boston, and Magnolia; Matthew Dutter, Kailey Dutter, Kasey Dutter, Joshua Morel and his wife Lindsey and their three children, Christian, Bella, and Myla; Stone Teele and their mother Susan Lynch Teele of Marlborough MA. As well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. She predeceased by two brothers Roger McCauley and David McCauley.

To say that her family and friends will miss her greatly is an understatement, between the patients she cared for, fellow nurses and doctors she worked with, Joanne was unselfish to a fault.

A private graveside will be held in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. A celebration of life will be held at Amvets, 17 Fitchburg St, Marlborough MA on April 2, 2022, at 12:00 p.m.

The Short & Rowe Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
