‘I strongly support the MGB expansion plan’

The Boston Globe published an op- ed entitled Critics of Mass General Brigham expansion plan ignore key facts, 1/26/22. This piece explained why the Mass General Brigham ambulatory care site in Westborough must advance and open as quickly as possible. Central Mass is seeing long waits in emergency rooms and even longer waits for appointments with a specialist. More people have moved into this region but the medical population has stayed the same. There just are not enough providers for the people who live in Westborough.

Further, there is a misconception that all medical care is the same. It is not. I recently had a procedure at Mass General; the professionalism, efficiency, and quality of medical care at MGB facilities is second to none. From the doctors to the nurses, the CNAs, the reception – everyone was just phenomenal.  With this new site in Westborough, I will no longer need to travel to a full-service hospital in Boston; that expertise will be available in MetroWest-Central Mass at a lower cost.

I strongly support the MGB expansion plan as a way to increase access to high quality care at lower cost.
