SHREWSBURY – Longtime Shrewsbury resident Gala Karoway celebrated her 100th birthday earlier this month.
Born in Russia, Karoway has lived in town for the past 65 years.
She turned 100 on Feb. 12.
“Gala is a special lady who puts a smile on the face of everyone she meets,” Gala’s granddaughter, Natalia, wrote in a message to the Community Advocate last week.
