ShrewsburySHREWSBURY – The Shrewsbury Planning and Economic Development Department has launched a Small Business Grant Program.

“The Town of Shrewsbury is committed to helping local businesses recover from the unique economic challenges that were created by COVID-19,” the department said in a recent statement.

Shrewsbury businesses can submit applications through April 1.

Shrewsbury has allocated $50,000 of its American Rescue Plan Act funding for the program, allowing individual businesses to receive a maximum of $2,500 in grant funds.

Businesses must meet several criteria to be eligible for the program, including being adversely impacted by the pandemic and having 25 full-time employees or fewer on their payroll. Eligible businesses must have been operating in Shrewsbury before June 10, 2020 and be in good standing with the town and the state. Businesses will then enter into a memorandum of agreement with the town to receive the funds.

To apply, business owners can visit https://shrewsburyma.gov/1076/ARPA-Small-Business-Grant, call the Planning and Economic Development Department at 508-841-8512 or email them at [email protected].
