HUDSON – Previously delayed by COVID-19, Symphony Pro Musica’s second show of its current season is now scheduled to take place this weekend at Hudson High School and at Mechanics Hall in Worcester.

The program is titled “Music Alive” and features violinist Inmo Yang, who is the first-prize winner of the internationally renowned Paganini Competition. Yang will perform Jean Sibelius’s masterly and beloved Violin Concerto.

“It’s a privilege to work with Inmo once more,” director Mark Churchill said in a press release announcing this event.

“He has already established himself as one of the leading international violin soloists of his generation,” Churchill continued in his comments about Yang. “He plays with power, grace and subtlety, and his technique is second to none.”

SPM is continuing a 39-year tradition of performing at Hudson High School. As such, it will open this weekend slate of shows with a performance on March 19 at 7:30 p.m. at the High School.

The orchestra will then return to Mechanics Hall on March 20 at 3:30 p.m. for a show.

“What a privilege it is to have a world-class concert hall right here in Central Massachusetts,” Churchill said of Mechanics Hall.

“The acoustics are ambiance are second to none,” he continued. “SPM always feels honored to play at Mechanics, and we know that our listeners are in for a real treat!”

Students are able to attend SPM concerts at no charge. Adult tickets are $25 while senior tickets are $20. Group rates are available.

First-time SPM concertgoers may also attend the Hudson performance free of charge.
