Rose L. ModanoHudson – Rose Lee (Kelton) Modano, 80, of Hudson, passed away on Wednesday March 16, 2022, at Marlboro Hospital in Marlborough, MA.

Rose Lee was born in Waltham, MA on April 14, 1941, to the late Guy and Virginia (Lee) Kelton. She spent most of her childhood in Waltham and Wayland but has resided in Hudson for 58 years.

She is survived by her three daughters Lisa Herr and her husband Ed, Paula Lubas and her husband Paul, and Karen Fahey and her seven beautiful grandchildren, Brian Fahey, Thomas Fahey, Andrea Fahey, Stephen Fahey, Kayli Shaheen, Alyssa Herr, and Christopher Lubas. In addition, she leaves behind two great aunts, Mary Orchianelli and Jessie Bacon, several nieces and nephews, and many cousins. She also leaves behind former spouse Paul Modano, as well as many cherished friends and lifelong neighbors. She is predeceased by her parents, Virginia Lee (Cullen), Guy Kelton, stepfather, William Cullen, her two siblings, Mary Keeler and William F. Cullen, Jr., and her beloved dog, Biscuit.

Rose Lee’s greatest joys were her daughters and her grandchildren. She was so proud of all their accomplishments. She was an avid reader and loved to write notes and send cards. She never forgot a birthday and very much enjoyed planting flowers. A history enthusiast, Rose Lee would often share stories of her childhood and the many places she traveled to in her earlier years. A humble person, some of her favorite moments were meeting friends and family for coffee. A fan of the Boston area sports teams and figure skating, as she would watch on TV while knitting. In addition, she enjoyed spending time on Cape Cod and in Maine with her Aunt Mary.

She was also a member of St. Michael Catholic Parish in Hudson, MA. She was a certified paralegal and worked as an administrator and paralegal at Digital Equipment Corporation for over twenty years. She then went on to work as a part-time receptionist at Saint Patrick’s Manor in Framingham, MA, where she retired after 15 years.

A period of visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, from 10:00-11 a.m. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. service at the Tighe-Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749, following a procession to North Cemetery in Wayland, MA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends of the Hudson Public Library, 3 Washington St, Hudson, MA 01749.
