SHREWSBURY – The Shrewsbury Garden Club is officially accepting applications for a $1,000 scholarship.
The scholarship is open to high school seniors or a graduate. Applicants must have resided in Shrewsbury for at least three years.
They must have been accepted or enrolled in a higher education school and must be studying agriculture, architectural landscaping, conservation, ecology, environmental studies, floral design, forestry, horticulture or a related field.
Recipients can re-apply for the scholarship on an annual basis as their studies continue in this field.
In 2021, scholarships were awarded to Marley Ewick and Hannah Larrabee.
Ewick graduated from Shrewsbury High School in 2020 and is majoring in plant biology at the University of Vermont.
Larrabee also graduated from SHS in 2020. She is studying at the University of Massachusetts Amherst’s School of Earth and Sustainability and Natural Resources Conservation.
The application deadline is April 8. Scholarship applications can be found online at http://shrewsburygardenclub.org/.
