Walter M. Davis Jr., 74, formerly of Southborough

Wellesley – Walter Moody Davis Jr. 74, passed away on March 12, 2022, peacefully at his home in Wellesley. He was the loving husband to Meg Davis for 43 years.

Born in Southborough,  he graduated from Tufts University and spent two years in Senegal with the Peace Corps where he became a true francophile. After getting his masters from Boston University, Walter dedicated 30 years of service as a beloved teacher to the Peabody School in Cambridge. For 16 years Walt and Meg spent their summers working at Farm and Wilderness Camps in Plymouth, Vermont, where Walt made lifelong friendships and positively impacted the lives of many young men.

An avid gardener, traveler, and loving grandfather, Walt enjoyed trips throughout Europe and adventures through our national parks. He will be remembered for his witty sense of humor, kindness, and love for his family and friends.

Walter is survived by his daughter Lindsay Stoner and her husband Parker; his son Jesse Davis and his wife Juli; his three grandchildren Teddy, Abby, and Carly, and his sister, Sally Yeatman and her husband Larry.

A memorial service will be held on April 30th at 11 am at the Southborough Rural Cemetery with visiting hours following from 1 pm – 4 pm at 1 Oak Street Wellesley.
