SHREWSBURY – A Framingham man has been arrested after police say they found him fleeing the scene of a garage burglary on Monday.

Police said in a statement on Tuesday afternoon that they first responded to a call that a man was attempting to break into a detached garage in the 100 block of South Street the previous day.

When they arrived, police said they found the suspect, Christopher Behr, 43, in a pickup truck trying to leave the driveway of the residence.

Police say they stopped the truck from leaving before removing Behr from the truck.

Behr was allegedly found with “several stolen items” that were reportedly from the garage.

“Officers did observe damage to the shed door, which appeared to be caused by the suspect forcing entry into the building,” police said.

Behr has been charged with daytime felony breaking and entering, larceny under $1,200, larceny from a building, and vandalizing property.
