Northborough Cultural Council awards 2022 grants

NORTHBOROUGH – The Northborough Cultural Council recently announced more than $6,000 in 19 grants for events to be held in 2022.

Recipients include:

    • Northborough Community Affairs Committee – 2022 Summer Concert Series
    • Ed Harlow – 8th Annual Soular Jazz Festival
    • Davis R. Bates III – A Celtic Celebration
    • St. Bernadette’s Elementary School – Art Alive! An Interactive Art Gallery
    • Assabet Valley Mastersingers, Inc. – AVM Concert Season
    • Northborough Historical Society, Inc. – CHALLENGER: Soaring with McAuliffe
    • Jacob Litoff – Chamber Music Concerts Applefest
    • Northborough Free Library – Chinese Brush Painting
    • Northborough Town Common Committee – Family Music at Farmer’s Market
    • Motoko Dworkin – Folktales from Asia
    • Elizabeth Silvia – Giggles, Games and Grandfriends
    • MUSIC Dance.edu – Hip Hop Dance Chair Exercise
    • Northborough Area Community Chorus – NACC 51st Spring and Winter
    • Fannie E. Proctor School – Slapstick Science
    • Stephen Lewis – Struggle for Women’s Equality
    • Algonquin Regional High School – The Power of a Personal Story
    • National Art Honor Society of ARHS – Trim-A-Trail and Wish Tree
    • Dale Schofield – Winter Illumination
    • Women of Note, Inc. – Women of Note 2021-2022

The council’s funding comes from the Massachusetts Cultural Council. The council is also supported by the town of Northborough. 

People who wish to volunteer for the Northborough Cultural Council do not need an artistic background, and they can contact [email protected]

“If you’re an artist, performer or organizer of cultural public events based in Northborough or the vicinity, your work contributes to our community’s well-being and the NCC recognizes the importance of what you do,” the Cultural Council wrote in a recent press release.

“If you’re a member of our town’s community, NCC is working towards bringing you a wide variety of opportunities to access, whether in the classroom, at the library, the senior center, and even outdoors in town center or at the park,” it continued.
