UPDATE: Westborough, Southborough fire departments join response to fire in Hopkinton

UPDATE: This article has been updated with additional information and photos from a fire in Hopkinton on Saturday.

REGION – Fire personnel from multiple area communities were in Hopkinton on Saturday morning tending to a fire in a partially constructed home there.

Westborough Truck 1 and Engine 4 both responded.

The Southborough Fire Department helped provide water tanker support.

Upton, Milford, Ashland, Hopedale and Medway fire personnel also provided aid, according to the Hopkinton Fire Department.

The Westborough Fire Department reported in a post to social media that there were no injuries related to this fire.

Photos showed heavy smoke and damage to the home, though.

Smoke was additionally seen drifting into nearby Ashland as crews worked to bring the blaze under control.

First reports of the fire emerged shortly after 8 a.m. on Saturday.

The Hopkinton Fire Department then shared a photo of the fire situation around 8:30 a.m., showing fighters working in multiple parts of the building.

The fire department initially advised motorists to avoid the area while crews continued to work.
