Gladys A. NorgardNorthborough – Gladys A. Norgard, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, April 23, 2022. She recently celebrated her 78th birthday April 6th.

Gladys was born in Marlborough and raised in Northborough, the oldest of four children to the late Roger C. and Rita C. (Byrne) Wile. She was a 1961 graduate of Algonquin Regional High School and remained a resident of Northborough her entire life.

Gladys assisted with the daily operations of the family business, Wile’s Agway Family Farm. As an adult Gladys never lost the love of working outside. Over 20 beautiful floral gardens across her home’s yard are a testament to her hard work and green thumb. As a teenager Gladys and a young man by the name of Robert A. Norgard attended C.Y.O. together; she as a cheerleader and he as a basketball player. The couple were married in 1965 and were looking forward to celebrating their 57th year of marriage in June of this year.

While quiet in demeanor, she was always happy-go-lucky, optimistic and shared her beautiful smile with all. Gladys enjoyed talking with anyone she met and had an understanding way about her. She worked side by side with Bob, they were a team. For many years she assisted the Cub Scouts as a den mother and volunteered in the snack shack for Northborough’s baseball and youth hockey games. As a devoted mother she made it a point to be at as many of her son’s games and other activities as possible. In later years she looked forward to keeping up with her grandchildren’s busy schedules. She truly loved her family.

In addition to her husband Bob, Gladys is survived by her two sons, John T. Norgard and his companion Jeanine Furco of Long Island, New York, and Charles “Chuck” R. Norgard and his companion Paulette Gemme of Oxford; two grandsons, Logan Norgard and Charles “Chucky” Norgard and a great-granddaughter, Raelynn Norgard. Gladys also leaves her three siblings, Marcia Pappas, Maureen Bullis and Peter Wile.

A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2022 in Saint Rose of Lima Parish, 244 W. Main Street, Northborough. A time of fellowship with Gladys’ family will follow in the church hall.
