Heather E. TaurasGrafton/Malden – Heather Elizabeth Tauras, beloved daughter of Nancy Tauras and Alexander Tauras, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2022 at age 41.

Born in Worcester on July 1, 1980, Heather grew up in Grafton and was a 1998 graduate of Grafton High School. She went on to both Quinsigamond College and Worcester State University where she earned two degrees with high honors and graduated summa cum laude.

Along with her parents, she shared her world with five sisters, Nina Miller, Ami Mahassel, Alissa Eaton, Erica Tauras and Alexandra Tauras and many brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends who loved her deeply, especially her dear friend Joe Amarel.

From a very young age, Heather loved school and never missed a day; she carried her perfect attendance streak for years. She embraced learning and enjoyed engaging others in thoughtful conversations. Her outstanding grades were a testament to her intelligence and work ethic.

Heather had a kind spirit and found beauty in the world around her. She loved flowers and animals and nurtured many pets in her life, including her cat “Beets.” Heather loved the beach and sand castles and collected sea glass and beach stones. She enjoyed the brilliance of sunsets which she beautifully captured through her photography. Heather liked country music and was a devoted fan of the Patriots.

Though life continually put obstacles in her path, Heather was a fighter. She approached each day knowing it could be better than the last and always focused on the small joys that emerged. Heather was beautiful, funny, sweet, thoughtful and kind. She loved her family and never ceased to celebrate their successes. She believed in the value of small gestures, always remembering a birthday card for her nieces and nephews or sending a text when someone was in her thoughts.

Heather left a lasting imprint on our lives. We will love and miss her forever.

All are welcome to gather with Heather’s family and friends on Monday, May 9th from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester Street, North Grafton MA. Services and burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a donation in memory of Heather Tauras to Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden Street, Worcester, MA 01606.
