William A. Balfour IIIMarlborough – William Alfred Balfour III, 81, of Marlborough, Ma, died May 6th, 2022, in Marlborough.

Born in Norwood on September 25, 1940, William was the son of the late William A. Balfour Jr. and Helen (Glynn) Balfour and the beloved husband of Audrey (Cormack) Balfour.

William grew up attending St. Catherine’s Church in Norwood, MA where he was a member of the choir. He was a graduate of Norwood High School’s class of 1958. After high school, William went on to enlist in the United States Air Force where he served for four years. Once discharged from the military, he went on to obtain a degree in Science of Accounting from Bentley University, with this degree he spent his life working as a business accountant for Artisan Industries in Waltham.

Besides his wife, William is survived by his children, Alison Corey and her husband Tim of Bakersfield, VT, Kristin Ashburn and her husband Michael of Groton, MA, and William A. Balfour IV and his wife Jennifer of Saco, ME. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brendan Corey, Ryan Corey, Haley Ashburn, Chloe Ashburn, Finn Ashburn, William A. Balfour V (Liam) and Mason Balfour, as well as his sister Agnes Nancy Zimmerman of Lakeville, MA and several nieces and nephews. He was brother to the late Helen Mullaney and the late Barbara McGrath.

Visiting hours for William will be held on Sunday, May 15th from 4:00-6:00 pm at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough, MA 01752. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 16th, at St. Matthias Church, 409 Hemenway St., Marlborough, MA at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson St., in Marlborough.
