NORTHBOROUGH/SOUTHBOROUGH – The Algonquin boys lacrosse team took the field on Saturday for a game against Pinkerton Academy.
Entering the game with an 8-3 record, the Titans looked for the win on their home turf.
Pinkerton ultimately emerged on the right side of a 13-7 final score, however.
The loss drops Algonquin’s record to 8-4 entering the final weeks of this year’s regular season.
The Titans will be back in action on Monday against Hopkinton before taking on Westborough on Thursday. Algonquin will then have two games left on its schedule after those contests.
The team ranked in 15th place in the state’s Division II boys lacrosse power rankings, with that aforementioned 8-3 record as of Friday. That put the Titans past the threshold to qualify for this year’s state tournament, which will begin in the coming weeks.
