SHREWSBURY – The St. John’s boys lacrosse team will continue its state championship bid this month after beating Central Catholic High School on Wednesday night.
Held at home in Shrewsbury, the Round of 32 playoff clash saw Central Catholic strike first, opening a 1-0 lead on the St. John’s campus.
The Pioneers responded, though, seizing an 8-4 advantage by halftime and ultimately securing a 13-10 victory.
This win now propels ninth-ranked St. John’s into the Round of 16, where they’ll face eighth-ranked Needham.
The Pioneers will have to hit the road for that game, which had not been scheduled as of Thursday at 1:45 p.m.
