Bertha A. DiPierroShrewsbury/Worcester – Bertha S. (Sigel) DiPierro, 97,  passed away Saturday, June 18, 2022.  Her husband, Matthew, of 71 years predeceased her in 2014.

Bertha was born in Worcester on August 5, 1924, daughter of the late Stacia (Dabrowska) and Joseph Sigel. After graduating Commerce High School, she was employed by Sheppard Envelope Company.

Bertha loved to knit and crochet beautiful items that all her family members benefited from over the years. She also loved spending some of her free time gambling at the casinos and playing bingo. Above all, she loved cooking for her family, enjoying all the generations being together.

Mrs. DiPierro leaves many behind that love and will miss her deeply including her two daughters, Donna Gingras and her husband, John S., of West Boylston, Sandra Smith and her husband, Thomas A., of Shrewsbury; four grandchildren, Tanya Sparhawk and her husband, Michael, Thomas Smith and his wife, Tammy, Joseph Gingras and his wife, Erin, Johnna Cox and her husband, Wardell; 7 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph, Edward and Ziggy Sigel; sisters, Helen Edukajtis and Jenny Zona.

All are welcomed to a celebration of Bertha’s life at Fay Brothers Life Celebration Home, 1 West Boylston St., West Boylston with a visiting hour Friday, June 24th from 10:00 until 11:00am.  A service will begin at 11:00am and will be followed by internment in Mount Vernon Cemetery, West Boylston.
