Shrewsbury – Paul R. LaPierre 86 of Shrewsbury died Friday June 24, 2022 at UMass Hospital Worcester. Born in Worcester, Paul was husband to Janice M. (Richmond) who he enjoyed 61 years of marriage with until her death in 2018, and the son of the late Joseph and Helen (St. George) LaPierre.
Paul is survived by his son Robert and his wife Jessica, his daughter Paulette McKenzie and her husband Keith, one son Bruce LaPierre died in 2017. Paul also leaves his beloved grandchildren, Tiffany, Krystal, Corey, Kurtis, Shane, Stefan, Erika, Mallorie, Abrayana, Adam, Alesi, Lyndsey, Aryton, Lana, Landen, Ava, and Aurora. Paul was also predeceased by one great granddaughter, Alessandra, and his six brothers and sisters. Paul also leaves his beloved great grandchildren, Logan, Liam, Avery, Tanner, Colin, Jackson, Zachary, Christian, Nathan, Maverick, and soon to be born Penelope.
Paul will be remembered fondly as an avid New England sports fan and a lover of golf. He was a truck driver for many years for the Local 170 driving for many local companies and a proud US Air Force Veteran that served during the Korean war, and a longtime member of St. Anne’s Church in Shrewsbury.
Funeral services for Paul will be held from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. Worcester, Ma 01605. Calling hours will be Thursday June 30, 2022, from 4-7pm. A funeral Mass with military honors will be celebrated on Friday July 1, 2022 at 11am at St. Anne’s Church 130 Boston Turnpike Shrewsbury, Ma 01545.
