SOUTHBOROUGH – Parts of Southborough and Marlborough were without power Saturday night after a bout of thunderstorms in the area.

The statewide National Grid outage map showed 119 energy customers impacted by the largest of the outages, around Oregon Road and Edgewood Road just south of the MassPike in Southborough.

The outage occurred around 6 p.m., according to National Grid.

A photo from the scene showed tree debris across the road in the area, having knocked down power lines.

This was one of two active outages in Southborough as of 7:50 p.m., with power also reportedly out along a portion of Framingham Road beginning at 6:09 p.m.

A separate outage was reported in Marlborough, impacting just over 80 customers around Brimsmead Street and Tremont Street off Bolton Street.

That outage took place around 6:45 p.m., according to National Grid.

All this came as storms rolled through the region late on Saturday afternoon.

A severe thunderstorm warning was in place for Southborough and area communities between 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

National Weather Service forecasters projected that winds could reach up to 60-miles-per-hour at that time.

While the thunderstorm warning excluded parts of Marlborough and communities to the north, a special weather statement in the area stretched through Hudson and into Berlin, warning of 40-mile-per-hour winds as severe weather made its presence felt.
