WESTBOROUGH – Car lovers are convening in Westborough this weekend for the 2022 iteration of the Viva East Rockabilly Weekender car show.

Held at the DoubleTree Hotel off Route 9, the event kicked off on Thursday.

It will now see its main day of programming on Saturday.

There will be live music, food trucks vendors and more between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Admission is $20 per person.

The show aims to highlight pre-1970s traditional, custom and hot rod cars with its slate of festivities.

Viva East first made its home in Massachusetts in 2017 in Marlborough. It moved to Boxborough for 2018 and 2019 before it was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

It has since relocated again to Westborough, with organizers excited to bring their event to town.

“We wanted to stay along the 495 corridor – a lot of the drivers don’t like to bring their cars to the city,” owner and promoter Mark McDonagh told the Community Advocate earlier this year of the decision to come to Westborough.
