A much-beloved grandmother, Finita was born on March 24th, 1930, in Worcester, Mass, to mother Anna (Polastro) Gioiello and father Paul Polastro. Finita grew up in Worcester, but spent much of her ‘second’ life living with, and helping to raise, the family of her daughter, Jody.

Finita took on many jobs as she raised her three children, including a position at Astra Pharmaceutical and working for the Food Service department at Shrewsbury Crossing (now Benchmark Senior Living).

In 1988, Finita moved into her daughter’s home, creating the type of extended nuclear family very familiar to her Italian roots. With endless enthusiasm, she cared for a new generation of three children and was always willing to help around the house with chores or running errands. She was a small woman, but her presence was massive, and she would have done anything for the wellbeing of her family.

Finita, known as ‘nana’ to her grandchildren, loved spending time in Florida–especially when visiting Walt Disney World with her family–attending the annual Big E fair in Springfield Ma, and tuning in to her mid-day soap operas. Above all, she cherished the time she had with her grandchildren.
