Diana G. NollettiMarlborough – Diana Gail (Laney) Nolletti of Marlborough, MA passed away in the early hours of Sunday morning of July 17, 2022 at the age of 79. Born on November 15, 1942, she is survived by her husband of 52 years, Arthur E. Nolletti, Jr.  and her beloved daughter, Alexandra Elizabeth Nolletti.

She was the eldest child of Alfred H. Laney and Lessie Lois (Brannon) Laney of El Dorado, Arkansas, and is survived by her siblings David Michael Laney of North Carolina and Janice Claire Watkins of Arkansas. She is also survived by her two nieces Laura Virginia Clopper of Georgia and Melanie Melissa Elliott of Oregon, and her nephew David Jacob Laney of Texas. She was predeceased by her nephew, Lawrence Wade Watkins.

A graduate of Centenary College in Louisiana, she earned a Bachelor’s Degree, She was then awarded a Woodrow Wilson Scholarship for graduate work in English Literature at the University of Wisconsin and served as a teaching assistant at the University, earning a Master’s Degree. It was there she met and married her future husband, Arthur. In Ohio she taught one year at Cayahoga Community College.

Throughout their marriage, she and her husband shared many interests, rarely missing Sunday evening programs on WGBH, the public television station. She also was an avid reader of historical novels and mysteries and introduced Arthur to several her favorite authors. At Framingham State University, she was an assistant to Dr. Mary Prassard, after which she worked in the Admission’s office until she retired in June 2021.

She will be remembered for her kindness, loyalty, common sense, gentle humor, and steadfast nature. She never bore grudges and always sought the best in human nature.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at 10 a.m. in the Short & Rowe Funeral Home, 95 W. Main Street, Marlborough, MA.

There will be no calling hours.

Following cremation, burial will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Wooster, Ohio at a later date.
