NORTHBOROUGH – SALMON at Northborough and the Friends of Northborough Senior Center are working together to raise funds for the Northborough Senior Center.

They will be holding their fourth annual car wash fundraiser on Aug. 12 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Whitney Place at Northborough at 238 West Main St.

“Our staff is looking forward to our annual car wash and washing as many cars as we can,” said Executive Director of SALMON at Northborough Scott Bullock. “We are always excited to help our local community of Northborough, especially our friends at the Northborough Senior Center.”

According to Co-Chair and former President of Friends of Northborough Senior Center Anita Hagspiel, nearly $1,000 was raised last year.

“I’m very proud [of the volunteers],” Hagspiel said. “You don’t see this camaraderie and teamwork in a lot of towns. Collaborating with Whitney Place at Northborough has always been a win-win.”

All of the proceeds will go toward the senior center, and there will be BBQ and refreshments available for purchase.

Funds from the car wash have gone toward special events and services at the senior center, including cooking competitions, luaus and beer and wine tastings.
