Rimkus: Three generations reunite at Cape Cod, HHS grad gets marriedHUDSON – The marriage of Mark Belanger of Columbus, Ohio, and Jenny Saluk of Columbus, formerly of Hudson, took place July 10 at Wrightsville Manor, Wrightsville Beach, N.C. The bride is the daughter of Hudson residents Bruce and Janet Saluk, and Belanger is the son of John and Kathy Belanger, of Ohio.

They traveled to Thailand and Vietnam for their honeymoon, before settling in Southern Pines, N.C.

A 2008 graduate of Hudson High School, the bride holds degrees from Northwestern University, Loyola University and recently completed residency in Urology at Wechsler Medical Center, Ohio State University.

Her sister, Marianne Saluk, of Salinas, Calif., was maid of honor and Brittany Sukis, of Hudson, was a bridesmaid.

The bridegroom is a graduate of Ohio State University and serves as a Green Beret and Medic in the Ohio National Guard. The bride will be joining Pinehurst N.C. Surgical Associates as a urologist.

Reunion at Cape Cod

Three generations of the family of the late Frank and Idalina Marini, of Hudson, gathered for a reunion in July at Cape Cod.

Family members attended from Hudson; Franklin; Sutton; Manchester-by-the-Sea; Marlborough; Berlin; Leominster; West Yarmouth; Dave City, Fla.; Zephyrhills, Fla.; and Los Angeles, Calif. They gathered at Mayflower Bleach, West Dennis and South Yarmouth.

Former resident Karen (DiPersio) Henderson said it was the first family gathering since 2004.

“It was a week of catching up and reminiscing,” she said.

Hudson residents attending included Hudson Police Chief Rick DiPersio, his wife Nicole, and sons Nick and Cole.

Walk for Kathy Sept. 17

Hudson-based “Team Wolfe” will walk in memory of Kathy Wolfe Saturday, Sept. 17, for the benefit of the American Heart Association.

Team members will walk for the ninth year in Boston and Sudbury.

Kathy’s sister, Betty (Wolfe) Mazzone is team coach. Youngest walker will be Kathy’s granddaughter, Addyson Kathleen Dry.

Donations to American Heart Association may be made to Kathy’s mother, Frances Wolfe, 42 Pope St., Hudson MA 01749, with Wolfe Pack in the memo.

“Artist of Month”

Hudson native Linda DeStefano Brown has been named “Artist of the Month” by the Community ArtSpace of Arts Wayland.

A photographer and poet, Linda has exhibited her works throughout the area, including Hudson Town Hall, Maynard, Worcester, Plymouth, etc., and is a member of the Assabet Valley Camera Club. She is currently working on two books of poems and images.

“Celebrate Hudson”

“Celebrate Hudson ’22”, will be held Saturday, Sept. 17 in downtown Hudson from 1-9 p.m.

Sponsored by the Hudson Downtown Business Association, the event will include live music, food, art, petting zoo, beer garden, family fun and tethered hot air balloon (weather permitting.) Concert at 7 p.m. will feature Ronnie Earl and L & M Rhythm Kings.

Concert Aug. 17

“Retro Polatin” will present an outdoor concert at Victor Dyer Memorial Shell, Park Street, 65 Park St., Wednesday, Aug. 17 at 6:30 p.m. No admission, all are welcome. For information about their music go to www.retropolatin.com.

Outdoor game day

Hudson librarian Jillian Bennett invites local families to come to Outdoor Game Day, outside at the Hudson Public Library, Thursday, Aug. 18 at 2 p.m. Program will include games, refreshing snacks, crafts and outdoor activities. Rain date is Friday, Aug. 19.

Of local interest

Celebration of Life was held for Kimberly Ann (Field) Gold, 60, pastor of Hudson and Marlborough First Methodist Church, on Aug. 10 at Wilmington United Methodist Church. “Pastor Kim” died July 27 after a short battle with cancer.
