SHREWSBURY – Organizers of the annual Spirit of Shrewsbury festival are seeking volunteers to help with this year’s celebration.

The festival needs approximately 50 volunteers available on Saturday, Sept. 24 from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Roughly 20 volunteers are also needed from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25 to help with the parade route.

The festival’s senior tea event requires six volunteers available on Sept. 25 from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Those who volunteer on Sept. 24 will receive a free t-shirt, pizza, and a volunteer certificate.

Those interested in volunteering can sign up at tinyurl.com/2ws7wwfr.

Founded in 1996, the Spirit of Shrewsbury was initially conceptualized as a homecoming weekend for the Shrewsbury High School Alumni Association.

It quickly grew, however, evolving over the years into its current form.
