Richard B. DymekHolden – Richard B. Dymek, 90, beloved husband of the late Carol (Gillespie) Dymek, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on Friday, July 29, 2022. Born and raised in Worcester, Dick was a son of the late Boleslaw and Rozalia (Kowalczyk) Dymek.

After proudly serving in the United States Army, Dick went on to earn a master’s degree from the former Worcester State College. He enjoyed a long career as a School Administrator and Middle School Principal with the Westborough Public School System, retiring after 30 years of service.

It was during this time that he met and married the love of his life, Carol. They shared 58 wonderful years together, enjoying the life they shared. They shared a passion for travel and adventure and would think nothing of jetting off to Paris for a long weekend. They also enjoyed many trips to Italy, France, and Austria over the years.

Dick was an avid reader and a life member of the Nimrod League of Holden as well as a faithful and dedicated member of the First Baptist Church in Worcester.

He will be lovingly missed and remembered by several nieces and nephews and many close friends. In addition to his wife. Carol, he was predeceased by his three brothers including Edward Dymek, who served during WWII, and Stanley and Joseph Dymek; and his two sisters, Laura Lamonda and Alice Michalski.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather with the Briarwood Retirement Community, 65 Briarwood Circle, Worcester at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 19 where a Garden Dedication for Carol and a Memorial Service for Dick will be held.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Briarwood Retirement Community or to the Richard and Carol Dymek Scholarship Fund at Greater Worcester Community Foundation, 370 Main Street Suite 650, Worcester, MA 01609.

Arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
