Marguerite S. ShultzMarlborough – Marguerite S. “Peggy” Shultz, 77, of Marlborough, formerly of Westborough, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at the Rose Monahan Hospice in Worcester. She was the wife of Bradley P. Shultz to whom she was married for 50 years.

Born in Worcester, Peggy was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Angela (D’Errico) Evangelista. She was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy in Worcester, and earned a Bachelor’s degree from Anna Maria College and a Master’s degree from Boston College.

Peggy thrived as an elementary school teacher, a career she cherished, which began at Beal School in Shrewsbury as a reading specialist. She later taught at Adams Street School and Chandler Street Elementary School in Worcester, bringing enthusiasm and compassion, often filling multiple roles to children who needed more than just a teacher. She was dedicated to addressing the wide variety of challenges in her students’ lives, doing so with grace and without reservation.

She was a communicant of St. Luke the Evangelist Church in Westborough. She enjoyed reading, painting, gardening, and especially loved spending joy filled time with her beloved grandchildren.

In addition to her deeply devoted husband Brad, Peggy is survived by two loving daughters, Lauren E. Roberts and her husband, Michael, of Holden and Kristina A. Shultz and her partner, Randy Hill, of Boston, and three adored grandchildren, Michaela Roberts (15), Evan Roberts (13) and Ava Hill (10 weeks). Additionally, she leaves two sisters, Anne Holland of Worcester and Lucia Engdahl and her husband, Robert, of Holden, as well as many nieces and nephews.

As a loving wife, grandmother, mother, sister, and true friend, Peggy will always be remembered for her limitless kindness, generosity, and selfless spirit. Peggy will forever hold a very special place in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her dearly.

Peggy’s funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 29, at 11:00 A.M. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will follow in St. Luke’s Cemetery. A calling hour will precede the funeral from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. at the Pickering & Son Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough.
