HUDSON – A Worcester man faces charges after he was found in possession of a firearm without a license and fled the scene of a two-car crash.

Jordan Coll-Torres, 30, was charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle/property damage accident, unlicensed operation of a vehicle, carrying a firearm without a license and larceny of a firearm.

At about 12:05 a.m. on Sept. 6, officers responded to the 100 block of Manning Street to the report of a two-vehicle crash. According to court documents, officers saw that two vehicles had collided in the driveway of the home, and dispatch told police a vehicle may have struck the residence.

Police wrote that a Honda Civic had “heavy” front-end damage.

“The hood was bent in half and the front bumper was completely removed from the vehicle,” officers wrote.

Additionally, the windshield had a “large protruding bump” of spiderweb cracks over the steering wheel from the driver crashing into it, police said.

Police said that the Honda drove into the driver’s side of the other vehicle as it traveled eastbound on Cox Street through the intersection of Cox and Manning.

According to police, a gas meter had been ripped off as a result of the crash and “gas could be heard actively bursting out of the pipe.”

The driver – allegedly Coll-Torres – had left after witnesses saw police lights, one witness told police.

Officers searched the vehicle and found an unlicensed Glock model 9mm with no loaded ammunition wedged against a car battery, according to court documents.

Police, meanwhile, searched for Coll-Torres.

At about 5:20 a.m., officers were called to Cox and Manning streets because a man was knocking on doors and asking to use phones. Police reportedly located him near Main Street Bank and saw he had a laceration to his forehead.

Coll-Torres reportedly told police he left his friend’s house and hydroplaned into the building. He allegedly said he fled because he didn’t have a driver’s license.

He told police he “snagged” the handgun from his nephew.

Coll-Torres was arraigned and the judge set his bail at $5,000 bond or $500 cash. He will return to court on Oct. 3.
