Ralph A. Sherman Sr.Northborough – Ralph A. Sherman, Sr., late of Northborough, passed away peacefully at the age of 77 years old on Tuesday, September 20, 2022. Ralph was born in Boston and raised in Southborough, a son to the late Alden H. and Constance W. (Twombly) Sherman.

Ralph attended Southborough Public School and the Fay prior to attending Algonquin Regional High School. He would go on to reside in the Southborough area most of his life. Fifteen years ago, Ralph relocated to Northborough.

Ralph was a dedicated employee of 29 years, many as a head supervisor of manufacturing, at Alfax Paper Co. in Westborough. Ralph was a lifelong auto racing fan. He looked forward to traveling across New England to the many regional racetracks where he enjoyed spectating as well as serving as a race team member. Ralph also enjoyed fishing, listening to jazz music and day trips to Essex for seafood. Ralph also found enjoyment and friendship within the New England States Veteran Fireman’s League where he assisted in the restoration of antique hand tubs and participating in fireman musters. His family and friends will always remember Ralph’s easy-going demeanor and his desire to always be there to support friends and family alike.

Surviving Ralph are his beloved companion of 37 years, Margaret Belle of Northborough; his three children, Victoria Gay and her husband Frederick of Milford, Ralph Sherman, Jr of Pawtucket, RI, and Daniel Sherman and his wife Katherine of Richmond, VA; his eight grandchildren, Scott Miles, Jr., James Sherman, Jeff Sherman, Samantha Snead, Joshua Sherman, West Sherman, Myah Gay, Cary Sherman; seven great-grandchildren, Jace, Dean, Andrew, Bruce, Madison, Isla, and Lily. Ralph also leaves his brother, Lawson Sherman and his wife Joanne of Midlothian, VA; four stepchildren, David Belle and his wife Joan of Grandby, CT, Steven Belle and his wife Diane of Douglas, Brenda Gosselin of Whitinsville and Susan Fitzpatrick of Holly Springs, NC; eight step grandchildren, Melissa Escalera, Jennifer Bacon, Lisa Johnson, Michael Gosselin, Jeff Fitzpatrick, Nicole Dautrich, Jessica Belle, Michael Belle and nine step great-grandchildren, Hannah, Abigail, Natalie, Alannah, Isabelle, Lyndsey, Ayden, Jaycob and Aryanna; all whom he loved so much.

A celebration of Ralph’s life with burial at sea will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers please consider honoring Ralph’s caring ways by stopping for a visit, helping out a stranger, or making that phone call to just say hello.
