MARLBOROUGH – The proposed bank at 661 Boston Post Road East may become a Chipotle restaurant.

The City Council will hold a public hearing on Monday, Oct. 3, at 8 p.m., in the City Council chambers, second floor of City Hall, on an application for a modification of special permit and site plan.

Attorney Brian Falk, on behalf of Aubuchon Realty Co., will present the application to allow for a stand-alone Chipotle restaurant with a drive-through facility and eliminate the proposed bank and retail addition to Wayside Crossing plaza.

According to plans filed with the City Council, the bank was part of the original special permit to expand the plaza that was issued in 2021.

The proposed addition of a Starbucks would remain the same, along with the landscaping and pedestrian/bicycling upgrades.

The application materials and plans are available for viewing in the Office of the City Clerk, City Hall, 140 Main St., Marlborough, MA 01752; call 508-460-3775.

In addition, the plans and application will be available online at www.marlborough-ma.gov/city-council under public hearing notices.
