NORTHBOROUGH – The Northborough Helping Hands Association is kicking off its holiday campaign.

Called “Making Spirits Bright,” the program will benefit Northborough families and senior citizens who are in need. As part of the program, community members can sponsor a child, gift or grocery gift card.

Last year, Helping Hands served 142 children.

This year, the association is hoping to raise $10,000 to provide gift cards for each child to parents who can then personally purchase clothing or toys for the child. Grocery gift cards will be provided to senior citizens and single people in need.

The gift cards will be distributed as part of its annual Thanksgiving program distribution.

Helping Hands is requesting monetary donations so that the gift cards purchased by the association can be tailored to each child. A $75 donation will sponsor one child for the holiday while a grocery card for a family can be sponsored for $50 or one gift for a child for $25.

The deadline to donate is Nov. 1. Donations can be made online at www.northboroughhelpinghands.org or by mailing a check to NHHA, Holiday Outreach, P.O. Box 383, Northborough, MA 01532.

Additionally, MOOYAH will donate a percentage of its sales on Oct. 1 to the association. For the month of October, Aero Coffee Roasters will donate 10% of all in-store whole bean purchases to Helping Hands.
