Rachel E. MirandaMarlborough – Rachel Elizabeth Miranda, 32, of Marlborough, passed away peacefully Monday September 26, 2022 with her family by her side at Umass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.

She was the daughter of Jose and Heather (Dailey) Miranda. She was predeceased by her grandfathers, Brian Dailey and Felix Miranda.

Besides her parents, Rachel is survived by her grandparents, Nancy Lane and her husband, Ed of Marlborough, MA, Maximina Velazquez and her husband Cecilio of Framingham, MA, and Vicki Dailey of Punta Gorda, FL. As well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Rachel was a graduate of Hopedale High School where she was standout athlete. She played an integral role in winning the school’s first state soccer championship. Rachel played soccer for numerous elite club teams in her youth and was also a member of the Massachusetts Olympic Development team (ODP). Following graduation, she went on to attend University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she followed her dream playing on the Women’s Division 1 soccer team.

Rachel entered this world a champion. Her bright smile and sparkling blue eyes lit up the room when she walked in. An amazing human being who was kind, smart, fun, and loving with a heart of gold who loved to sing and dance. A caring person with a strong desire to help others, her legacy continued right to the end as her organs were donated to bring others a chance of hope and restored health.

She loved animals and was an advocate for dogs who needed a second chance and a loving home. Her dog, Juke (who predeceased her last year) was her everything! We know they are now reunited together once again. If you wish to donate in Rachel’s memory, please do so at: https://www.bulliedbreedsrescue.org/ or an animal charity of your choice.

Services will be private.
