Marlborough – Veronica “Ronnie” M. (Perreault) McDonough, R.N., 88, of Marlborough, MA passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 11, 2022. She was the wife of the late Richard “Dick” McDonough to whom she was married to for 57 years prior to his passing.
A lifelong resident of Marlborough, Ronnie was born to the late Valdemor and Mary (Gunning) Perreault.
A graduate of former Worcester Memorial School of Nursing, Ronnie spent her career working as a registered nurse at Marlborough Hospital.
A devoted mother, Ronnie is survived by her two daughters: Pamela Nunez and her husband Glen of Marlborough, and Traci Kelleher and her husband Tim of Northborough. Veronica is also survived by her five grandchildren: Ashley Nunez and her husband Tom Cherry of Hopkinton; Taylor Nunez and her husband Michael Murray of Worcester; Zachary Nunez and his fiancee Amanda Benson of Worcester; Jake Kelleher and his partner Emily Mount of Northborough; and Meaghan Kelleher of Northborough. Ronnie was delighted to spend time with her three great-grandchildren: Emilia and Thomas Cherry, and Matilda “Tilly” Murray. She is survived by her sister Patricia Martin of Hudson and predeceased by her sister Lorraine (Perreault) Galvin and brother-in-laws Peter Galvin and Joseph Martin. She leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews, and her two caregivers Jeanne and Laura who enabled Ronnie to live happily and independently in her own home.
Visiting hours will be Monday, October 17, 2022 from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc. 40 Pleasant Street, Marlborough, MA. Following visiting hours, a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect Street, Marlborough, MA. Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Beach St., Marlborough, MA.
