Auburn – Kathryn A. Voorhees, 63, of Auburn, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, October 28, 2022.

Born in Kingston, NY, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Corlyn (Rogers) Romer. She was raised and educated in Westborough and was a 1977 graduate of Westborough High School.

Kathryn was employed as a Call Center Administrator for a Real Estate company.

She was an avid reader, enjoyed watching soap operas and Hallmark movies, loved her dog Haberdash and all other animals, and frequented craft fairs and botanical gardens with friends and family. She previously volunteered through Millbury Public Schools and at Willy’s Kitty Angel Rescue.

Known to most as Katie, she was known for her impeccable ability to pick out the perfect thoughtful gift, humming and singing as she went about her day, and perfectly recreating her mother’s famous macaroni and cheese recipe. She loved a good margarita and plate of fettuccine alfredo at AJ Tomiaolo’s, planning out trips to interesting places and sights, and blasting Amy Grant while decorating the tree at Christmas. She was not only a loving and caring mother to her daughter, Corlyn, but served as a second and honorary mom to many of her nieces, nephews and daughter’s friends. She was a force of nature, a fighter, creative and quick-witted, and an unwavering support and cheerleader throughout the lives of her loved ones.

Kathryn is survived by one daughter, Corlyn P. Voorhees of Millbury, and ten siblings, Richard H. Romer of N. Grafton, Colette M. Romer of Holden, Karen M. Rivard of Grafton, Corlyn H. O’Brien of Marlborough, Colleen E. Romer of Wareham, Carol C. Romer of Westborough, Roy F. Romer of S. Grafton, Robert D. Romer of Scottsdale, AZ, Scott M. Romer of Sutton and Patricia J. Romer of Holden. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, November 3 from 4 to 6 P.M. at the Pickering & Son Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough.
