William R. RussellSterling – William “Bill” R. Russell, 58, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, October 27, 2022, after living with cancer for four years. He was born in Manchester, CT, the son of Sanford H. and Betty (Brown) Russell and grew up Northborough. Bill graduated from Algonquin High School in 1982. He moved to Sterling in 2001.

Bill was an avid gardener who took joy in tending to his expansive gardens. “Garden Tours” were a regular part of his summers. Bill was also an exceptional cook, who enjoyed cooking for his loved ones and planned extravagant holiday meals. He treasured the simple things in life; good conversations with his family and friends, watching birds at his feeders, befriending new people, and learning a new skill.

Bill lived life intentionally and with much humor. He was a devoted husband, father, and provider who never failed to make others feel loved and special.
