SHREWSBURY – When exactly the Market Basket in Edgemere Crossing at Flint Pond is opening is up in the air.

That’s according to developer LT Development LLC.

In a statement to the Community Advocate on Oct. 25, Principal at LT Development LLC Carmine Thomas said, “There is currently no definitive opening date due to supply chain issues affecting availability of some critical building components.”

However, he added that the Market Basket is “close to being finished.”

Market Basket will anchor Edgemere Crossing, which is located at 200 Hartford Turnpike.

The grocery store will occupy about 80,000 square feet of the 68-acre site that is the former location of the Edgemere Drive-In.

In addition to the Market Basket, Edgemere Crossing will include 250 apartments and retail space. Originally, plans called for a pharmacy, bank and general retail space throughout the property. However, earlier this year, the developer’s attorney announced that a Clinton Savings Bank and Starbucks would be constructed.

Plans for the mixed-use project were approved by the Planning Board in 2020.
