HUDSON – The Highland Commons L.L. Bean has officially opened its doors.
Yesterday, the company hosted an event for local officials and media outlets to get a first look of the store, which is located at 15 Highland Commons East.
“We love this store. We’re in a great town, right around our best customer base, and we are so excited to be open,” said Corey Bouyea, who is L.L. Bean vice president of stores and retail operations. “We are always looking for the right site, the right place and the right time. Thankfully, we found it here at Highland Commons.”
Among those in attendance was state Rep. Kate Hogan (D-Stow), who mingled with L.L Bean employees and browsed through sweaters and outdoor wear.
“I am really excited to have L.L. Bean in town. It is a great name brand,” Hogan said.
The shop is approximately 15,000 square feet and will join Cabela’s, T.J. Maxx, Market Basket and other retail stores in the shopping center.
In the past, L.L. Bean officials have said that the store would employ 50 people. This Hudson location marks the ninth L.L. Bean in Massachusetts, joining other nearby locations including in Millbury.
L.L. Bean employee Keith Manseau, who organized the shelves and helped customers, said the new store was a “nice spot” that residents were excited about.
“We have spent about a week and a half putting together this entire place,” Manseau said. “Watching it come together and being a part of it was awesome.”
Store hours will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
