Judith M. VoutasWestborough – Judith M. (Stone) Voutas, 78, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, peacefully at home surrounded by her family.

Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late Vaughn E. and May E. (Bridges) Stone. She was raised and educated in Worcester graduating from Commerce High School in 1962.  She went on to nursing school at Westborough State Hospital graduating in 1964 as a Licensed Practical Nurse and continued working there for the next few years until she started her family.

In 1980 she began working at Westborough Nursing home and then went on to a private pediatric practice for many years until the practice closed.  She then went on to be a Pediatric Nurse at Fallon Clinic (Reliant) and while working at Fallon, she also worked at Westborough Spectrum and Riverside Community Care Center, retiring in 2010. Retirement couldn’t keep her down, she became a driver for Special Needs children with Vanpool finally retiring in 2018.

During her childhood and teenage years, she loved playing the piano and singing and becoming a class vocalist.  She sang in the Junior, Senior and adult church choir.  Her family would rent a cottage at Cranberry Lake every summer.  She started sewing in high school and went on to make clothes for her children.  She loved ice skating, swimming, the beach, playing with her children and spending time with her family, being a Pediatric Nurse, her multiple fur babies, word search books, watching her Hallmark channel and her three granddaughters.  She loved being a Nana.

Judy is survived by her two children, Lisa M. and her husband Peter Hitchings of Oxford and Michaela L. Voutas of Westborough; her three grandchildren, Samantha Voutas, Madison Voutas, Kimberly Hitchings and many nieces and nephews.  She also leaves behind her best friend of 50 plus years, Linda Brady as well as all who loved her and called her mom and nana.

She is predeceased by her sister Marcia Lee and brother Vaughn (Teddy) Stone as well as her two sons, Scott A Voutas and Timothy M Voutas and her former husband, L Michael Voutas.

Her funeral service will be on Thursday, November 17, at 10:30 A.M. in the First United Methodist Church, 120 West Main St., Westborough. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery will be private.

Calling hours at the Pickering & Son Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough, are Wednesday, November 16, from 4 to 7 P.M.
