Mary M. BerberianNorthborough – Mary M. Berberian, 98, of Northborough, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 7, 2022. She was the devoted wife for 65 years to Kachadoor “Kachie” Berberian, until his own passing on November 3, 2012. Mary was born in Whitinsville, one of five children to the late Serop and Nectar (Berejiklian) Arakelian.

She was predeceased by her siblings Paul, Archie, Lucy (Kanarian), and Moses Arakelian. Mary leaves behind her daughter, Ellen Berberian, and son Michael Berberian and wife Debbie; grandchildren Michael, Ross, and Aaron Berberian and wife Erin; three great grandchildren, Mason, Aria, and Theo, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She graduated from Northbridge High School prior to studying at Bryant College where she earned her Business Degree. Mary was employed as an executive secretary at the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife for 31 years before retiring in 1989. After marrying, Mary and Kachie lived for a short while in Northampton, before relocating to the family farmland, Berberian Farms, in Northborough. Mary had an extremely strong worth ethic and never-ending energy. For many years, after a long work week, Mary returned to the farm where she served as bookkeeper and spent countless hours lending a hand towards the daily chores. As a devoted mother and homemaker, she was the backbone of her family. In her free-time, Mary enjoyed bowling, cooking, taking road trips to Maine, and playing cards – most especially with her friends, Eva, Lillian and Rita.

Mary was a longtime member of the Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church of Worcester and an active member of its Lady’s Guild and Bible Study group. Mary was also a member with the Armenian Relief Society and a volunteer of the church bazaars. She was most happy when among her friends and family.

Mary’s family wish to thank her caretakers, Robin Tarani and Carol Lapamardo for their kind and supportive care shown to Mary. In lieu of flowers, her family respectfully wishes that memorial donations be made to the Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church, 635 Grove St, Worcester, Massachusetts 01605.

A calling hour will take place between 10 – 11AM on Monday, November 14, at the Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church. Mary’s funeral will immediately follow at 11AM in the church. Mary will then be laid to rest beside her beloved husband in the Howard Street Cemetery, Northborough.
