Marlene S. AntalekShrewsbury – Marlene S. (Anderson) Antalek, a longtime resident, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 14, 2022. Born to Arthur and Rosemary (Campbell) Anderson of Worcester on June 6, 1946.

She is survived by her loving, devoted husband and soulmate, Paul R. Antalek, her beloved daughter and best friend Dawn Firmin and her husband Scott, her grandchildren whom she adored, Amanda Firmin and her partner Michael, Zachary Firmin and his wife Shelby, her brothers Paul E. Anderson and William Crosbie, and many loving nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends. She loved her family fiercely and with all her heart.

“Marl” was such an amazingly hard worker. She built many precious friendships at both the El Morocco and Future Electronics. She raised her daughter on her own, teaching her the meaning of strength, perseverance, and pure love, until she met her prince, Paul.

Marlene most enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She had a passion and love for decorating, cooking and celebrating each and every holiday with those she loved.

From the Maine seashore to the Caribbean to Ireland, proudly celebrating her Irish heritage and mostly their wedding day in Jamaica, she loved every adventure and had such a zest for life. Marlene cherished snuggling her fur-babies, cheering on “her” Red Sox, dancing, a nice glass of Cabernet, or a pint of Guinness held up high. Her beautiful, contagious smile was a reflection of her heart. She was so full of love. Her kindness was effortless to anyone who crossed her path.

To know Marl was to love her. Her strength and determination was so admired and such an inspiration and will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to share life with her.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to celebrate her beautiful life. Visiting hours are at the

Chiampa Funeral Home, 5 Church Road, On the Common, Shrewsbury Center, on Monday, November 21, 2022, from 8:30am – 10:30am. Funeral mass will follow at St. Anne’s Church, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury, at 11:00am. Interment at Mountain View Cemetery in Shrewsbury.
