Ramp closures this week on I-290 and I-495

HUDSON/MARLBOROUGH – Drivers on I-495 and I-290 may see changes in the coming days.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is announcing overnight ramp closures for the ramps from I-495 southbound to I-290 westbound and from I-290 westbound to I-495 southbound in Hudson and Marlborough. 

These temporary ramp closures will take place nightly on Monday, Nov. 28; Tuesday, Nov. 29; Wednesday, Nov. 30; and Thursday, Dec. 1, beginning at 11 p.m. until 5 a.m. 

During the overnight work, the following detours will be in place:

  • When the I-495 southbound exit 65B ramp to I-290 westbound is closed, traffic will be directed to use exit 63A (Route 20 eastbound) and reverse direction onto I-495 northbound.
  • When the I-290 westbound exit 32A ramp to I-495 southbound is closed, traffic will be directed to use exit 30A (Hudson Street) and reverse direction onto I-290 eastbound.

Appropriate signage, law enforcement details and messaging will be in place to guide drivers through the work area. 

Drivers who are traveling through these areas should expect delays, reduce speed and use caution.
