WESTBOROUGH – With Westborough’s annual election several months away, interested candidates can now seek nomination papers.
According to the Town Clerk’s office, there’s one seat on the Select Board up for election in 2023. Select Board Chair Ian Johnson is seeking re-election for a three-year term.
Two seats on the School Committee are up for election. Chair Lisa Edinberg is seeking another term on the committee. However, one seat is open with member Raghu Nandan, who was elected in 2020, not seeking re-election.
Additionally, Hazel Nourse hopes to be re-elected to the Planning Board while John Gelcich is seeking a full term on the board after he was appointed to fill a vacancy following the resignation of Tim Koehler.
Town Clerk Wendy Mickel is not seeking re-election. However, the current Assistant Town Clerk Deborah Ledoux is seeking election.
In other races, Town Moderator John Arnold is vying for re-election as is Dorothy Mello and Debra Cushman to the Trustees of the Westborough Public Library. However, there will be one new face on the trustees with Bill Linnane not seeking-re-election.
Brian Corcoran is running for re-election to be a trustee of the soldiers memorials. There is one non-veteran seat open on the trustees.
The election is scheduled for March 14, 2023.
Nomination papers were available starting Monday, Dec. 5, in the Town Clerk’s office, 34 West Main St., during Town Hall hours.
The last day to obtain nomination papers is Friday, Feb. 3, 2023, at 5 p.m.
