REGION – Snow is expected to roll into the region later today, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

“Accumulating snow will begin this PM and will last into the overnight hours,” tweeted the NWS Boston office.

The question is how much.

The NWS is predicting that there is a chance of snow beginning after 3 p.m. However, there likely will be snow mainly before midnight.

In communities whose conditions are measured at Worcester Regional Airport – including Grafton, Westborough, Northborough and Shrewsbury – the NWS is predicting between one to three inches of snow tonight.

For communities whose conditions are measured at Hanscom Field in Bedford – including Southborough, Hudson and Marlborough – the NWS is estimating about an inch of snow tonight.

The highest accumulation of snow may be in Western Massachusetts, which has been placed under a winter weather advisory, according to the NWS.
